ALEX TAILLIE
CEO/FOUNDER
I grew up in a small town in Western NY after being adopted from Seoul, South Korea. I moved to Memphis in 2012 after being accepted into the Memphis Teaching Fellows Program. Â
I was hired at Frayser HS which by most accounts was NOT the school to work at but it was the one who offered me a chance to become a teacher so I took it with open arms. Little did I know the impact it would have on my life. In 2013, while having dinner with some colleagues I threw out the idea of taking a group of students on a trip overseas. It was met with some hesitation and concerns. Who would we select? How would we get the money? Where would we go? All valid reasons but within a couple days I had decided what travel company and where we would be going. Â
We have traveled to Spain in 2014 with 9 students, Costa Rica in 2015 with 5 students and London, Paris and Rome in 2018 with 3 students. Over the course of three trips we have raised a total of $75,000. Â
These trips have helped me grow as a person and challenged me to do things I did not normally want to do or had ever done before. We have been interviewed many times on both TV and radio. I realized I am much more capable of things and that despite the struggles we have had to make these trips happen each and every one of them have been worth it. I challenge anyone to step up and help give children opportunities to challenge themselves as well and see what they are truly made of.

CANDOUS BROWN
Group Leader
Candous Brown, an educator with MCS/SCS, has just completed her eighth year in the classroom. She has taught Language Arts and Literature for grades 8-12 and is currently an English III teacher at Raleigh-Egypt High School. She believes that children who are only educated at school will have limited abilities which is why she was excited to be a part of the ITC Program. Through this program she will get hands on experience with and have tours of the places in which the literature she teaches actually took place.
Ms. Brown's hobbies include reading, writing, and binge watching Netflix. She also has just released a book entitled, "The Life of An Educator: What my TEP didn't teach me."

TAVION MOORE
Spain 2014, Costa Rica 2015, London, Paris, Rome 2018
My name is Tavion Moore and I graduated from MLK College Prep HS in 2015.  I have been able to travel on all 3 of the previous trips for ITC. I am very grateful to have these opportunities and look forward to traveling as much as I can.  In 2014, we had many ups and downs when it came to making the trip to Spain happen. We had to put in a lot of work but we ended up having a truly amazing experience. After that experience I knew that I had to go on any further trips and got the chance to travel to Costa Rica in 2015. I am excited to be the veteran of the group and travel for the third time with this unique organization. I am a LA Lakers and Dallas Cowboy fan to the end.

JAMES AND LAURIE TAILLIE
Spain 2014
I have supported ITC since its inception, believing in its basic tenet that young people will develop confidence, responsibility and empathy when given the opportunity to travel, see the world and meet people of different backgrounds. As a retired educator who has traveled with teenagers, I know the benefits of international journeys.
I had the good fortune to travel to Spain with the ITC group and saw first hand how the students behaved and interacted with others. I could not have been more impressed with their preparation for the trip, their responsible and mature behavior, and their willingness to experience every activity that was offered to them. If students can participate in international travel, the outcomes can only benefit them and all of us, in the long run.

BRYSHLAN PATTERSON

Ms. Vincent is an educator who was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. She attended Fisk University and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN majoring in Computer Science and Engineering Science. She found her passion in teaching and taught for 11 years in Memphis, TN. She attended the first two trips that ITC hosted, traveling to Spain and Costa Rica. Ms. Vincent feels that being a group leader for these trips was a very rewarding experience. Her favorite part of traveling with the students is getting a chance to see them out of their element and gaining exposure to aspects of life they wouldn't otherwise have access to. Ms. Vincent strongly believes that ITC is a great opportunity for deserving students.
